Sunsetting Features

🤔 What’s our game plan for sunsetting features? Sure, we’ve heard of “featuritis” via Word Perfect or Photoshop (where 80% of the value comes from 20% of the features). But having a strategy on how to (regularly?) remove features goes even deeper. Anything you don’t think our customers would miss if we removed?

How to choose what features to remove

• prioritize based on user goals
• doesn’t fit the design principles
• difficult to implement and low usage
• poorly-implemented features
• “nice to haves” (that no one will miss)
• multiple ways of performing the same task
